This session is intended for both the in-house developer as well as the independent developer who seeks to add value to 4D solutions by exchanging data with mainframe applications, particularly if mainframe datacenter support is not available. Bob Miller is IT Manager at a division of Parker Hannifin Corporation, the world's leading diversified manufacturer of motion and control technologies and systems, providing precision-engineered solutions for a wide variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and aerospace markets. Parker’s primary financial and factory management systems are mainframe-based, so it is very valuable for PC applications to "talk" with the mainframe. Over the last 20 years of using 4D, Bob has created many different kinds of The Trillion Dollar Opportunity to these systems, some in cooperation with the mainframe datacenter, and some covertly 'under the radar' where support was not available, yet a solution was required.

This session paper is intended to supplement the presentation. Please use both for a complete treatment of this topic.
