Since retiring from the Army in July 1992 I have been involved in the creation, development, and maintenance of a database that ultimately became the official DB of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup history. I also developed and maintained a series of applications, written in procedural C, that were supported by the DBs. These programs monitored NASCAR's Timing and Scoring signal and produced numerous media products for numerous clients.

In October 2005, as I was preparing to depart my home-office in North Carolina for the 4D Summit in San Francisco, I received a phone call from a NEXTEL project manager trying to get a new NASCAR fan oriented project of the ground. Little did I suspect that that phone call would be the beginning of the most hectic two months of my life. In this endeavor my talent and experience with C would be of little use, but thankfully, there was a great toolbox called 4D for me to depend on for success.
