The days of quick and dirty database design are long gone - or should be.
Ten to twenty years ago, a 4D developer could be hired to do a database by a small company and put it together pretty fast using Foundation or some other shell without even considering things like who has access to what. I am not knocking Foundation - it has grown up along with the industry. Developers should be doing a lot more than just knocking out a quick database if its going to house any sort of business or personal data that could be exploited.
