Resources are primarily used for storing an application’s interface. By using resources in place of static content, developers can create dynamic interfaces. 4D v11 SQL uses current technologies, such as the XLIFF format, to provide developers with multiple options for creating a single interface that can be customized a number of different ways with minimal coding. Two of the more common uses of resources are in localized applications and in Vertical Market applications. In 4D v11 SQL, resources can be used to create Client/Server applications that can be run in different languages simultaneously. In Vertical Market applications, resources can be used to quickly customize an application’s interface with a company’s name, logo, slogan, and other branding information, without ever making a change to the application itself.
