Tech Tip: Aborting Stored Procedures
PRODUCT: 4D Server | VERSION: 11.4 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: April 30, 2009

Stored procedures can be started from 4D Client and can be aborted from 4D Server. This is true in 4D v11 SQL and in previous versions of 4D.

4D v11 SQL introduces a new notification message for this situation. The notification simply displays error -1000 and includes the method name that was aborted.

Here are examples of what users see:

Win OS

Mac OS

As these alert messages may not be somthing that you want to display to users, it would be a good idea to build stored procedures such that they can be easily quit programatically.
