At the 4D Summit in 2009 we announced that 4D v12 would feature a 64-bit server executable on Windows. This exciting announcement represents a huge leap forward in terms of 4D Server’s scalability.

On the other hand it is important to understand what 64-bit support really means to 4D. Is this feature about performance? Will “everything” be faster? There are some very specific ramifications to having 64-bit support in 4D but it is by no means a "magic bullet".
