Tech Tip: License order matters when building an application
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 12 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: December 21, 2011

From either the Build Application dialog or from the BuilApp.xml file, when builing a 4D Standalone application or 4D Client/Server application, the order in which you list the licenses is significant.

For a Standalone Application the license for 4D Developer Professional license should always be first, followed by the 4D Unlimited Volume Desktop license that is associated with the 4D Developer Professional license then any additional expansion licenses associated with the 4D Developer Professional license.

For a Client/Server Build again the license for 4D Developer Professional should always be first, then followed by the 4D Server license, followed by the license for 4D Unlimited Volume Desktop that is associated with the 4D Developer Professional license followed by expansion licenses associated with the 4D Server licnese.

Building applications with licenses in the incorrect order can cause licensing problems in the merged application.
