Tech Tip: Suppressing TRACE command
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 11 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: August 18, 2010

If you make the mistake of placing the TRACE command in the Activate or Deactivate phase of a form (On Activate and On Deactivate events) you will be caught in an endless loop. This is one of a few situations where you might want to suppress the debugger re-opening. Without going to the drastic step of force quiting 4D to escape the endless loop, Shift+click on the No Trace button of the debugger to get out of it. Any subsequent calls to TRACE within the current process will be ignored.
