Published On: December 17, 2010
Localization is the process of updating an application so that it can be used in different languages. Making an application multi-lingual can be very important, as it opens up the possibility of deploying the application to a wider range of customers. While localizing a database has been possible in a limited fashion in previous versions of 4D, the new features introduced in 4D v12 and 4D v11 SQL make the process easier to set up and provide more control over the process. This Technical Note will cover how to localize a 4D database and goes into detail of how to control the process, with special attention being given to the new 4D v12 command SET DATABSE LOCALIZATION.
