To run more than one 4D Remote session on the same machine there are some options:
Both Mac OS X and Windows feature a "fast user switching" feature that allows more than one user to be logged into the machine at the same time. A simple way to run more than one 4D Remote session is to log in as different users and run 4D. Note that "users" means operating system accounts, not 4D users.
The issue being solved here is that each 4D Remote session must have its own copy of the "client cache"; the client cache cannot be shared by more than one session of 4D Remote as the files must be read/write.
If it is not possible or desirable to create seperate user accounts for each 4D Remtoe session, it is possible to run more than one 4D Remtoe with a single OS account. To do this, create a folder named "clientlocal" next to the 4D executable. The client cache will be placed in this folder instead of the normal location. Take note that this solution of course requires more than one copy of 4D. You must create one copy per session.
