In Mac OS X, you can double-click or drag a .4dbase package to 4D executable to load the database. But what if the database was created in an older version of 4D? Adding the .4dbase extension to the folder to change it into a package allowing for double-click and dragging to launch.
Select the folder the database is located in and contextual click for "Get Info".
In the "Get Info" dialog locate the "Name & Extension" field and add the .4dbase extension to the folder name.
When clicking out of the "Name & Extension" field, OS X will give a dialog prompt to add the change.
Once it adds the extension, the folder will change into the 4D package allowing for double-click or dragging for 4D to launch.
