Tech Tip: METHOD GET CODE May Return Error -9768 for Duplicate Objects
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 13.2 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: March 21, 2013
Background: form objects are required to have unique Object Names, especially when working with the Design Object Access commands in 4D v13. However because of the legacy tremendous of 4D code, as well as the intense focus on compatibility in 4D, it is possible to still have duplicate Object Names today in 4D.
The METHOD GET CODE command may return the error -9768, "Invalid object path", for form object methods if more than one object has the same "Object Name". The path is, in fact, not invalid but the problem remains that duplicate objects exist and those should be fixed.
