The Journal file is a backup log created next the 4D database structure. What if the database is located on the primary hard drive but you want the backup Journal to be located on a secondary drive? 4D allows for the Journal relocation in just a few steps.

1) If the database is open, quit 4D.
2) Move the journal file from the current location to the new location
3) Open 4D and select "Open" when prompted at boot
4) Navigate to the new location
