Tech Tip: Use single macros xml for v12 and v13 in OS X
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 13.3 | PLATFORM: Mac
Published On: June 11, 2013
The current location for the Active 4D Folder in v12 and v13 are located in two different folders using OS X. If the developer wants to have the macros used for all database, they would place the same macros xml file in two different Macros v2 folders. To simplify the process for updating the macros, developers can place a single macro xml file in the Macros v2 folder for v13 and create an alias for v12.
Place the new macros xml file in the "Macros v2" folder found in the Active 4D Folder:
4D v13 Active 4D Folder location:
"Macintosh HD:Users:username:Library:Application Support:4D" |
Once the file is placed in the "Macros v2" folder for 4D v13, select the custom macro xml file and create an alias. Place the alias file in the "Macros v2" folder for the Active 4D Folder in v12.
4D v12 Active 4D Folder location:
"Macintosh HD:Users:username:Library:Preferences:4D" |
Any future changes made to the custom macros xml file in the v13 directory will apply to both v12 and v13.
