Tech Tip: Clearing access groups created by Administrator
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 13.3 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: August 8, 2013

Once a group is created by the Designer it cannot be deleted, however, this is not the case with groups created by the Administrator. Users and Groups created by the Administrator can be cleared by loading an "empty" users and groups file with a .4UG extension.

Creating an "empty" users and groups file:
1. Log into a new database as the Administrator and open the Tool Box to access the Groups page
2. Click on the Options button at the bottom on the window and choose the "Save users and groups" menu item

Saving the users and groups saves the state of the current uses and groups. So in this case the state of no new users and no groups is saved.

To clear all users and groups created by the Administrator:
1. Log into a new database as the Administrator and open the Tool Box to access the Groups page
2. Click on the Options button at the bottom of the window and choose the "Load users and groups" menu item to select the "empty" users and groups file. This will remove all users and groups created by the Administrator.
