Tech Tip: PR4D Resource Damaged
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 13.3 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: October 30, 2013

In Tech Tip PR4D Resource Damaged Alert Dialog readers are advised that if this dialog is encountered that the fix is to delete the .4DIndy file to fix the problem. This is still valid advice by may not be the compete fix.

When 4D rebuilds the deleted .4DIndy file the PR4D resource is copied to it from the structure file, .4DB or .4DC. If the problem persists after deleting the .4DIndy, both the .4DIndy file and the structure file need to be replaced.

Because the cure to this problem can involve the database structure file, it is very advisable to include the structure file in the 4D Backup process so that is will be readily available for replacement.
