Tech Note: [3rd Party Tech Note] Migrating Away from the 4D Picture Library

4D 6.5 introduced the Picture Library much as we know it today. At the time, an integrated, cross-platform picture manager and bit-map editor was a great thing to have. Since those days, the Mac OS has evolved away from resource files, cross-platform image formats have matured, and there are a huge range of tools for editing and manipulating pictures outside of 4D. Consequently, 4D has stopped adding features to the Picture Library and has been encouraging developers to switch to external picture files for several versions. This technical note and the accompanying example database include information and tools to ease the transition away from the picture library.
