Tech Tip: The Comments feature for the Documentation Site .
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 15.x | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: February 23, 2017

4D provides helpful documentation for the products. There are two versions of the documentation sites a static documenation site at doc.4d.com and a live, most updated version at livedoc.4d.com.

The live documentaion content gets push to the static documentation site every once in a while but may not be pushed immediatly. When there are content issues found or clarification is desired for specific documentation first check the live docs to see if the issue has already been addressed or not.

If not it is possible to send a message to the documentation team on the livedoc site. First the user must be logged in with their 4D account. At the bottom of each page of the documenation, there is an "Add Comment" button.

Clicking this button will open a window that will allow a message to be sent to the documenation team by selecting to publicize the comment or sending it only to the documentation team.

Publicizing the comment will add the comment to the bottom of the specific page allowing other users to view it.
Also adding a private comment will add a comment on the page for only the logged in user to view as a reference or note to themselves.

If a page has a viewable comment the searches will display a speech bubble like the following image shows.

Going to the page will display the comments at the bottom of the page above the "Add Comment" button.
