A quick way to automatically renumber variable names in a form is to do the following:

1.) Draw a marquee around a selection of variables.


2.) Enter the following shortcut:
Win: Ctrl+Alt+click
Mac: Cmd+Option+click

3.) Select the parameters in the dialog box.


The variable's name are automatically renumbered. Note that the Object name is the same.
