The "Default User" feature allows you to specify a default user to automatically login as each time your database is opened. In order to use this feature you must enable the 4D Password Systen first.

The 4D Password System is enabled by setting a password on the Designer account.
The 4D Password System is disabled by removing the password from the Designer account.

If the 4D Password System is disabled then everyone opening the application is automatically logged in as "Designer" regardless of the "Default User" setting.

Reminder - You can force 4D to display the standard password entry dialog box by holding down the Shift key while the application is starting. This is helpful when you need to connect to the database as the Designer or Administrator.
