It may be necessary to reduce the quality of an image (or document) for certain users of an application, such as the case of a photographer providing a sample image of lower quality or obscuring the image of one user to another user who aren’t in the same group. Reducing the pixel density of an image requires, in simple terms, taking small pieces of an image, averaging the color of those pieces, and returning a copy drawn off of those average-colored chunks.
