Ever get prompted to enter an access code when logging to Google, Amazon, PayPal or your bank? Most websites now use two-factor authentication to enhance security over the use of only a username & password. Any unrecognized user will be required to verify his/her identity by entering an access code, delivered via a separate channel like email or SMS. This session introduces and reviews existing two-factor authentication techniques. We will explore a workflow for two-factor authentication using 4D methods within a web application, implementing an email-based authentication example app.
