It can be useful to perform a Verify on the 4D database regularly. It checks the database for any obvious issues that are detectable by the function. However, there are some nuances to performing a Verify.

Verifies can be performed on a closed database and an opened one. Performing a verify on a closed database is better because it allows a more detailed (and longer) and indeph verification compared to when a verification is performed on an opened database.

So when running a Verify it is best to run it on a closed database.
