A form-data-object can be populated and accessed only when the form has been displayed by the DIALOG command or when the form is a subform. Any attempts to populate form-data while the form is loaded for a print job will not be successful.

As seen in the screenshot, a widget that references a property of the form-data-object will appear as blank.
