4D v18 Beta is available for testing, and part of the benefits of being part of the partner program or having licenses with maintanance is the privlege of being able to use the beta. Since v18 is a new version of 4D it will need 4Dv18 licenses and will not work with any installed licenses for older versions. If 4Dv17R-Release licenses are on the same machine when 4Dv18 is opened, it is possible to automatically upgrade the licenses to v18 licenses.

For 4D Server Licenses are automatically upgraded (generated on the machine) upon opening the application if a valid 4D Server v17 R-release license is found. If 4D v18 is opened and there are no licenses found, when an action that requires a license is performed (like creating a new database) a dialog will inform that licenses are needed and if the user would like to upgrade their licenses. If the action is accepted the procedure will look for any valid v17R-release developer licenses and generate a v18 license.
