There are actually two ways of accessing MSC in 4D. The options are as follows:

Option 1: Opening MSC before structure file

1. Open 4D by itself


2. Help > Maintenance Security Center


3. Select your structure file and open

Option 2: Opening MSC after structure file

1. Open 4D


2. Select your structure file and open


3. Help > Maintenance Security Center

With these two options, which one is recommended? In some very rare cases such as heavy database corruption, there have been cases where option 1 (opening MSC before structure file) did repair errors that option 2 failed to address. In summary, it is recommended to use open MSC then select your structure file just to be safe and to cover that case.
