Tech Tip: Reset Picture Library ID Counter
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 17 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: January 24, 2020

When adding pictures into the Picture Library, the ID number can be modified. However, the ID can only be modifed during the time a new picture is created in the Picture Library. What happens when an abundance of pictures with varying ID's is present in the library, and you want to reset the ID number counter?

To illustrate, say there are two pictures in the Picture Library. The first one has an ID of 1 and the second one has an ID of 50. The ID number counter for the next picture will begin at 51 and count up for each subsequently added picture. To reset the ID counter to begin at 2, you'll have to manually create a new picture and assign the ID number to 2. Thereafter, the next added picture will start the ID counter at 3.

The behavior of the Picture Library ID counter is that the new ID is equal to the previously added picture ID plus one.
