The Automated Certificate Management Environment (ACME) protocol which is used for connecting to the Let’s Encrypt Certificate Authority (CA) to obtain FREE certificates for your 4D Web Server has been updated. The component that was included with the previous 16-17 and 17-01 tech notes will cease to function soon. This Tech Note provides information on installing and using the official Certbot application that is provided by LetsEncrypt.org and the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). This Tech Note should provide the 4D developer with enough information and the necessary tools to continue using Let’s Encrypt today and far into the future.
