Tech Tip: Project Mode Table From Folders
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 18 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win

A project mode structure is comprised of multiple human-readable text files. To help with organization, items are represented by individual files such as forms, methods, styles, and more. These files are futher automatically organized into separate folders.
For tables, their names are based on the table number. This is planned so that structures managed by a version control system will not lose the link when the file or folder is renamed. For convience, 4D's environment will use table names to help developers manage their tables while version control systems will manage the files associated with tables to their number.
As shown above, the table forms for each table are in a numbered folder and not a folder with the same name as the table.
