Being able to flexibly work with data is always a welcomed feature. With 4D’s remote datastore feature, more options open up on ways to interact with a 4D database. 4D v18 introduces a new feature that allows a database to be exposed as a REST server for other 4D applications to communicate with. This allows multiple configurations of 4D applications to interact with not only one but multiple 4D remote datastores. This technical note will go over the new feature set providing details on the features, how to use it, and a sample database to demonstrate the feature.
