Tech Tip: Why Comment Blocks may not be Recognized

Comment blocks may not be recognized in v18 when upgrading from older databases. An example of this is shown below.

If your multi-line comments are not being recognized and the database has been upgraded from a version before 4D v15, check the 'Save methods as Unicode' option in the Compatibility tab of the Database Settings. This option must be turned on for multi-line comments to function properly.

In 4D v15 and later, methods are automatically saved in Unicode. For databases created before v15, this option will need to be turned on manually.
