Most data sets are huge, with too many rows and columns of data to easily derive meaningful information. The pivot table is a spreadsheet tool that organizes and aggregates data into a condensed form to help focus on the important aspects of the data set. This technical note will demonstrate an approach to implementing a basic pivot table builder using 4D View Pro. Data will come from 4D database tables. The builder will let the user select their desired table, rows, columns, and values, and procedurally generate the pivot table for them in a 4D View Pro document. The implementation will be using some of the latest 4D technology, including ORDA and v18 R2.
