Tech Tip: Naming certificate and private key for enabling the HTTPS server
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 18 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: June 3, 2020

When enabling the HTTPS portion of the Web Server, the developer must place the private key and the signed certificate files next to the structue file. These files may be obtained from various sources and can contain various naming conventions, as such the developer should take the time to rename the files accordingly:

The private key should be saved as key.pem
The signed certificate should be saved as cert.pem

Using names other than the ones above may result in improper loading of the certificate files.
