Prior to v18 R3 whenever there is a change in the datastore (E.G. adding, renaming, or removing field/table), it was necessary to restart 4D Standalone or 4D Server to update the datastore. Now in v18 R3 and newer, the datastore in 4D Standalone will automatically stay up-to-date for both binary and project databases.

When working in client / server mode in a binary database, only the 4D client needs to restart in order for the updated structure to be redownloaded.
