Tech Tip: Logon Failure Error when Stating 4D Server as Service

A Logon failure error may occur when trying to start your 4D Server as a Service with a designated account if the account password has been changed/incorrect or the account has not been enabled for logon services.
If the logon password for designated account has been changed, you will need to update the logon information. Follow the steps below to update the password for the account.
- Navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services
- Right-click on the 4D Server service name > Properties
- Go to "Log On" tab and update the password for the designated account
If the logon fails due to the account not being granted the logon service rights, you will need to enable the account. Follow the steps below to enable logon services for the account.
- Sign into the computer with administrator privileges
- Navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy
- Expand Local Policy
- Click User Rights Asignment. In the right pane, right-click "Log on as service" and select "Properties"
- Click "Add User or Group"
- Select the User to enable service logon permissions for.
