Tech Tip: ISP-blocked port may cause SMTP IC error 10064
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 18 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: November 2, 2020

If you are experiencing the 4D Internet Commands (IC) error 10064: "No response has been received within the given timeout period", when trying to send SMTP emails, it may be due to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) blocking a necessary port. Try sending the emails at a different location (with a different ISP) and see if you still get the same error. If not, it could mean that your original ISP is blocking a port that is necessary for SMTP to send emails. At that point, you should contact your ISP and inquire about any blocked ports.
