With the release of v18R4 and the move towards more object-oriented programming in 4D, comes a whole new way of declaring variables. This newly introduced syntax for declaring variables greatly supports the use of ORDA and classes. Boasting enhanced type-ahead features and greater code understandability, using the new syntax for variable declaration is highly recommended. This technical note will explore the benefits of using the new declaration syntax as well as provide a component to help convert compiler themed variable declarations to the new way.
