Tech Tip: Check Object Names When Adding WP Widgets To Form
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 18 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: March 22, 2021

When adding a 4D Write Pro Widget to the form from the Object Library, the 4D Write Pro area comes with default code applied that applies a hard coded references to the object names for the Write Pro area and Widget. These values do not automatically conform to any name changes when the objects are added to the form.

For example, there is already a 4D Write Pro Area and Widget on the form with the default names of "WParea" and "WPtoolbar", respectively. If another Area and Widget are dropped onto the form, then the objects names would be "WParea1" and "WPtoolbar1" while the code would still reference "WParea" and "WPtoolbar".

When adding a 4D Write Pro Widget to the form always consider the naming conventions of the WP area to make sure things work as planned.
