Running a MSC Verify on a 4D database application is simple. Usually, you may have your database application already open before you run the MSC Verify. This is known as standard mode (verify while the database is running). Running a verify in this mode makes 4D perform a fast scan. Not everything is checked, but it can be done while the system is online and running.

To perform a deeper level verification, run the MSC Verify without launching your database application (maintenance mode). This is how:

1. Launch 4D


2. Open the MSC


3. Choose the structure file of the target application to verify


4. Run Verify

Doing an MSC Verify when no one is able to access the database (database not running) allows 4D to perform a much deeper check. The deeper level check can take more time to complete, but it may find more information that was not found when doing a verify on a running database.
