The command, Get menu bar reference may return an empty string if there is no current menu bars assigned to the process. This can happen when a new process is started and a menu bar is not assigned to it with SET MENU BAR. Form associated menu bars do not return a reference. Because of this, it is a good idea to assign a menu bar to each process a user interacts with.
