In client-server mode, when querying for records with a large data file, a message may be encountered that states “Computing statistics: [some number] of [total] records”. This usually comes with slower performance of the query. This could mean that adjustment of the cache memory settings is needed, especially if the size of the data file is larger than the maximum cache size (default 400 MB). Go to Database Cache Settings (Design > Database Settings > Database > Memory) and modify Maximum Size, so that it is at least 1 GB larger than the size of the data file. Note that this is limited by the hardware specifications of the machine.
