4D allows mobile app development with 4D for iOS and Android. To create a mobile app the mobile application development software is required to build it. With 4D for iOS Xcode is required. Xcode is a Mac only application. To build an Andriod application, the Android SDK with Android studio is needed on Windows.

Since these are development software, they are also updated regularly. 4D's use of the software to build the application can be reliant on the version of the software. As such it should be stressed that the version of the mobile application development software match the version specified by the version of 4D.
