Data is valuable and there are numerous types of data that can be collected. However, collecting too much data can be problematic as it can cost more resources such as storage space and processing power. One way to reduce the amount of data is to not collect redundant data. For example, if a combination of two fields is required instead of recording this as a third field, 4D now provides a way to generated computed attributes which will allow the combination of the two fields to be used more seamlessly. This Technical Note will provide details on how to use computed attributes in 4D and provide a demo with examples so that the feature can be applied to other use cases.
