The remote datastore feature of 4D provides many more options to deploy and run a 4D database. One potential strategy is running multiple versions of 4D. If a database is running 4Dv19.x and a new feature in one of the Feature/R-release look useful, the remote datastore can be enabled on the 4Dv19.x database and then a new database running the R-release can be connected and then run code that can later be easily ported over.
This can also help with transitioning between conversions of 4D when moving to another version while keeping the older version supported for a little longer.
There are many use cases for the Remote Datastore feature and these are just a few potential use-cases.
