A 4D database has two names that can be managed and modified. One name is the database's name which is based on the name of the structure file. The other name is the publication name used when the database is running as a server. When a database is first created the name of the database is applied to both. The individual names can then be modified after.
The database's name can be modified by changing the name of the structure file while it is not opened.
The publication name can be modified in the database settings under the client-server section and applied with a restart.
While modifying the names can help with managment, be aware that there may be some side-effects. Such as the recently opened opened databases list will not contain the database after the structure file has been renamed or that a new cache folder can be created due to the change in names.
