When upgrading an application from an old version of 4D, note that the user environment no longer exists. In single-user mode, there are now only the application environment and design environment. If startup environment is set to “Application”, one must navigate back to design environment to be able to access records in tables. To do this quickly, hold the option key and right-click on Mac, or hold Alt+Shift and right-click on Windows, and then select “Go to Design Mode.”
