In parts of the world that observe daylight savings, when the time changes, this can cause some confusion on what had occurred. The time change occurs at 2:00 AM. When the time moves forward, 2:00AM becomes 3:00 AM and when it falls back 2:00AM becomes 1:00AM.
The execution time of processes that occur between these periods may seem odd due to this. For example, a process starting at 1:59AM that typically takes 3 minutes to complete may seem to take 63 minutes when the time moves forward at 2:00 AM.
Inversely, when the time jumps backward the completion time may appear to be before the start time.
The time change occurs on the second Sunday of March and the first Sunday of November.
This information should be considered when reviewing logs for actions that have occurred between the 1:00AM to 3:00AM period on one of these days, or these periods can be avoided to prevent any confusion.
