When troubleshooting a 4D app, it is common practice to enable specific logs to help isolate the source of the problem. Logs are typically enabled via server administration window or SET DATABASE PARAMETER commands. However, enabling logs can sometimes be less than ideal in compiled apps where code cannot be modified and requires adding code in the interpreted database then recompiling the code. However, starting in 19 R3, the log configuration file is now a new feature that allows all log settings to be set within a JSON file and loaded via server admin window. This feature can be especially useful when dealing with multiple sites running their own 4D Server and can simply send this JSON file to each site to assure logs are set properly.
