Tech Tip: Key Syntax Differences Between 4D View and 4D View Pro

The syntax of 4D View and 4D View Pro is not the same. 4D View Pro follows Excel's syntax. Specifically, in 4D View, you can subtract one string from another using the '-' sign, whereas in 4D View Pro, you must use the SUBSTITUTE command for this operation. Additionally, to concatenate two strings, 4D View uses '+', while 4D View Pro uses '&'.
Finally, if a VP document attempts to multiply and divide two strings, which is not allowed. The conversion process translates this error into concatenation.
