Tech Tip: Fixing “No Route to Host” Error in 4D on macOS
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 20 R | PLATFORM: Mac
Published On: July 2, 2025

When launching the 4D application (e.g., v20.3), some users may encounter the following error message:

  • Error -10002: Connection interruption for this process or the connection could not be established.

  • Error 65: No route to host.
This issue appears on some workstations only, while others are unaffected.

This behavior may be related to macOS's built-in firewall, which may be blocking 4D's network traffic. To resolve it:

  1. Click on the Apple menu > System Settings.

  2. Click on Options.

  3. Check whether the 4D application is listed.

  4. If it is not listed, click “+” and manually add the application /Applications/

  5. Ensure that the status is set to “Allow incoming connections”.
